Maricopa Planting Guide

My goto guide for planting has always been whatever is on sale at the nursery or local big box garden supply store.  But the Maricopa County Extension has a published guide that is tailored for this area.  But I never seem to have that guide with me in its paper form and looking at it on my phone is not very easy.  So here is my attempt to turn this information into a more dynamic and usable site.

The next phase of work for this site is to add in a chart that will show how well certain plants perform in different aquaponic systems.  The goal here is to make a interactive list that can be easily referenced while planning what to plant in aquaponic systems.

This will work best if everyone participates, by sharing their experiences with various plants and systems and adding comments below each plant posting.  I will then populate the chart and give attribution to you and cross link to any pages given.

Here is an example of what I am working towards having.

Thank you much Dr George Brooks for providing me your list of successful plantings to seed this project with (pun intended) :-)

If you are in the SouthWest desert you may also find this useful for dirt gardens.  Just pick the half month that you are planning to plant and you will get the list of plants that can be planted.
